Participation of Cardinal Koch at Rimini Meeting
On 26 August, the Cardinal Prefect participated as a speaker at the Conference on the 1700th Anniversary of the Council of Nicaea during the 46th edition of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples. Together with Cardinal Koch, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew, also spoke.
In his presentation entitled "Nicaea 325-2025: a golden moment for ecumenical unity", Cardinal Koch illustrated the ecumenical importance of the Council of Nicaea, placing particular emphasis on the opportunity to renew and deepen the profession of faith, on the pastoral effort to find a common date for Easter, and on the revitalisation of a synodal lifestyle within the various Churches.
Before the Conference, it was possible to visit the Exhibition on the Council of Nicaea organised on site in collaboration with the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.
The Secretary of the Dicastery, His Excellency Monsignor Flavio Pace, welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch upon his arrival at the Meeting and accompanied him on a visit to the exhibition on the Martyrs of Algeria and Ukraine.
