Theologians from Aarhus University visit DPCU
On 21 October 2025, theology students from Aarhus University (Denmark), accompanied by their professors Dr Bo Holm, Dr Nils Arne Pedersen, and Dr Jakob Egeris Thorsen, visited the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity (DPCU).
Following an official welcome by Archbishop Flavio Pace, Secretary of the DPCU, Father Dr Augustinus Sander OSB, DPCU official responsible for relations with Lutherans, offered an overview of the history and tasks of the Dicastery. This was followed by an in-depth discussion on current issues concerning the interpretation of Luther from an inner-Catholic perspective, various ecumenical formats, and the objectives of Catholic-Lutheran dialogue.
The excursion to Rome is part of a joint interdisciplinary and interconfessional course at Aarhus University entitled “Rome: A Christian Centre – Reality and Imaginary”.
