Ecumenical formation for CHARIS Brazil

On 19 August, Msgr. Usma Gómez, head of the western section of the DPUC, at the request of the National Communion Service of CHARIS Brazil (SNCCB), gave an online lecture entitled Ecumenismo e Renovação Carismática Católica (‘Ecumenism and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal’). The presentation reviewed Cardinal Leon-Joseph Suenens’ Malines II document (1978), concluding with some suggestions for further study in the light of Catholic magisterial documents and ecumenical developments over the last five decades, particularly in the International Catholic–Pentecostal dialogue. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session led by Fr André de Moraes and Mr Izaias Carneiro. The forum of the CHARIS Brazil Communion Service has 250 members, comprising members of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and new charismatic communities spread throughout the country.
