23 Jun 2026

From June 18-22, 2026, the Catholic Pentecostal International Dialogue met in Rome to finalize its report on the seventh phase on “Lex orandi, lex credendi.” This international official dialogue is co-sponsored by the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity and, since 2022, by the Pentecostal World Fellowship. During the Angelus Prayer, of June 21, Pope Leo XIV greeted the members of the Dialogue and said, “reflecting together on the principle lex orandi, lex credendi is particularly relevant nowadays”.

Exploring aspects of each other's spiritual lives and engaging in open dialogue about their beliefs and liturgical and devotional practices is a learning experience to be accomplished by all Christians. The agenda of the dialogue included a general introduction to the topic lex orandi, lex credenda (Springfield, MO, USA, 2018), followed by sessions on kerygma/Proclamation and the Christian life (Rome, Italy, 2022), Prayer/Worship and Christian life (Kasoa, Ghana, 2023), and Sacramentality and Christian living (Lisbon, Portugal, 2024). The Final Report was drafted during the plenary sessions in Quebec City, Canada, 2025, and Rome in 2026.

The Catholic Pentecostal International Dialogue was established in 1972 and so far has published 6 reports
