Coordinating Committee of the International Catholic-Orthodox Dialogue

From 15 to 19 June, the Coordinating Committee of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic and Orthodox Church met at the Pannonhalma Archabbey in Hungary, co-chaired by Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, and Metropolitan Job of Pisidia of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.

According to the communiqué, the work of the Coordinating Committee focused on a revised draft text dealing with the topic of infallibility from theological and historical perspectives. Following discussion, the Committee members decided that the text needs further revision and clarification before it can be submitted to a Plenary Meeting of the Commission. Another meeting of the Coordinating Committee is therefore planned for June 2027.
