Installation of new Leadership of the Salvation Army for Italy and Greece

On Sunday 21 June, the new leadership of the Salvation Army Italy and Greece Territory was installed during a worship service at the Rome Corps. Lt. Colonel Cinzia Walzer-Carpagnano was installed as Territorial Commander and Lt. Colonel Samuel Walzer as Leader for Leader Development. The Lt. Colonels Walzer had already been serving in the Italy and Greece Territory. In addition, Major Francisco Paredes was installed as Chief Secretary and Major Patricia Paredes as Secretary for Women’s Ministries. The Majors Paredes, who are Chilean, had most recently been serving in Argentina.

The Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity was represented at the service by the Secretary, Archbishop Flavio Pace, and by Fr Martin Browne OSB. Later this year, the fifth and final session of the current round of annual Informal Conversations between the Salvation Army and the Catholic Church will take place near London. The most recent meeting in the series took place in Rome in November 2025.
