The Holy Father receives Metropolitan Antonij of Volokolamsk

On Saturday, 26 July 2025, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received in private audience His Eminence Metropolitan Antonij of Volokolamsk, President of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. This was the Metropolitan's first meeting with the current Pontiff.

The audience concluded with an exchange of gifts.

Metropolitan Antonij was accompanied by Reverend Jaromír Zádrapa, Official of the Eastern Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, responsible for relations with the Slavic Orthodox Churches.
