Serbian Orthodox Choir participates in Vespers with the Holy Father
On 25 January 2025, the Orthodox Choir of the Cathedral of Niš (Serbia) took part in Vespers with the Holy Father at St Paul’s Basilica, marking the conclusion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Their participation was a gesture of fraternal exchange on this significant ecumenical occasion.
During the celebration, the Orthodox Choir performed sacred music pieces both before and after Vespers, in collaboration with the Choir of the Pontifical Sistine Chapel, under the direction of Maestro Marcos Pavan.
This initiative represents an important sign of closeness to the Serbian Orthodox Church. The participation of the Orthodox Choir of the Cathedral of Niš in this event highlights the role of sacred music as a bridge between different Christian denominations and as a means of fostering encounter and mutual understanding.
