Second session of the “Ut unum sint” Diploma

18 Nov 2024

The second session of the Ut Unum Sint Diploma for 2024-2025, organised by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Angelicum [Œcumenicum] in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, was held on Friday, 15 November.

This session, dedicated to the Catholic principles of ecumenism, featured a lecture by Prof. Juan Usma Gomez, Head of the Western Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, a workshop on spiritual ecumenism led by Fr Emiliano Biadene from the Monastery of Cellole, and a visit to the Centro Pro Unione in Rome.

The Ut Unum Sint course, which began in 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of Saint John Paul II's encyclical of the same title, is particularly aimed at diocesan delegates for ecumenism and all those seeking to deepen or update their knowledge in the field of ecumenism. The programme is structured around eight modules, held once a month on Fridays for a year. Each thematic module includes a four-hour academic lecture, a workshop, and an ecumenical visit in Rome.
