Press Conference with Fraternal Delegates to Synod 2024
On 10 October, a press conference [video below] was held at the Holy See Press Office, focusing on the ecumenical dimension of the Second Session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, taking place in the Vatican from 2 to 27 October 2024.
In addition to His Eminence Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, His Eminence Job, Metropolitan of Pisidia (Ecumenical Patriarchate), His Excellency Martin Warner, Bishop of Chichester (Anglican Communion) and the Most Rev. Dr. Anne-Cathy Graber, Secretary for Ecumenical Relations of the Mennonite World Communion, took part as Fraternal Delegates to the Synod.
In his opening remarks [IT], Cardinal Koch emphasised that "one of the most significant aspects of this Synod is its ecumenical dimension." He expressed gratitude for the presence of the Fraternal Delegates, noting their increased numbers and the broader representation of the Christian world this year, as well as their active and valued participation in the Synod's work.
