Ecumenical panel discussion on the document The Bishop of Rome

On the occasion of the Synod of Bishops on Synodality and the publication in French by Éditions du Cerf of the document The Bishop of Rome of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, an ecumenical panel discussion was organised on Thursday 3 October at the Centre Saint-Louis in Rome.

The round table featured Bishop Matthieu Rougé from the Diocese of Nanterre (France), Bishop Paul Rouhanna, Auxiliary Bishop of Joubbé of the Maronites (Lebanon), Metropolitan Job of Pisidia from the Ecumenical Patriarchate (Turkey), Rev Prof Anne-Cathy Graber from the Mennonite World Conference (France), and Frère Alois, the former Prior of Taizé (France). The discussion was moderated by Fr Michel Kubler, the former Religious Editor of La Croix, and introduced by Fr Hyacinthe Destivelle, Official of the DPCU, alongside Sr Nathalie Becquart, Under-Secretary of the General Secretariat of the Synod. The event concluded with remarks from Mgr Juan Usma Gómez, Head of the Western Section of the DPCU.

This event was jointly organised by the Centre Saint-Louis and the Angelicum's Institute for Ecumenical Studies, and was well-attended by members, experts, fraternal delegates, and special guests of the current Synodal Assembly.
