From 14 to 16 May 2024, an international conference on synodality was held in Louvain-la-Neuve entitled “The Synodal Conversation: The Momentum of the Church Rediscovered”.
Organised by the Catholic University of Louvain and the Faculty of Theology of Trier, the conference brought together ecclesiological, ecumenical and pastoral approaches, and featured contributions from several participants in the 16th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, including Sr Nathalie Becquart, Sr Josee Ngalula, Prof. Alphonse Borras, Deacon Geert De Cubber and Anglican Bishop Martin Warner.
The Rev. Fr Hyacinthe Destivelle, Official of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, gave a presentation entitled ‘Catholic learnings from Orthodox synodality: An ethos to draw on, rather than a model to copy’.
