A group of 25 students from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC, USA, visited Rome from June 20 to 28. Based at the Facoltà Valdese di Teologia, they engaged in an intensive study programme on the Mission and History of the Waldensian and Methodist Churches in Italy. As part of their programme, the students visited the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity on Thursday 25 June. Accompanied by the Director of the Methodist Ecumenical Office, Rome, Revd Matthew Laferty, they were received by the Secretary, Archbishop Flavio Pace, and by Revd Fr Martin Browne OSB, Official responsible for relations with Methodism, who introduced them to the work of the Dicastery and the ecumenical work of the Catholic Church.
