The fifth session of the Diploma Ut unum sint 2023-2024 organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Angelicum [Œcumenicum] in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity was held on Friday 16 February.
This session, dedicated to the Anglican and Methodist traditions included a lecture by the Rev. Fr. Martin Browne, OSB, DPCU Official, and by the Rev. Matthew Lafferty, Director of the Methodist Ecumenical Office Rome, a workshop entitled "Social Doctrines of the Churches", with Prof. Alejandro Crosthwaite, OP, and a meeting with Archbishop Ian Ernest, Personal Representative of the Archbishop of Canterbury to the Holy See, at the Anglican Centre in Rome.
Aimed in particular at diocesan delegates for ecumenism and at all those who wish to update their knowledge in the ecumenical field, the "Ut Unum Sint" course was launched in 2019 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the same encyclical of Saint John Paul II. The program is divided into 8 modules, one Friday a month, for a year. Each thematic module includes a four-hour academic lecture, a workshop and an ecumenical visit to Rome.
