Fifth cycle of the diploma "Ut unum sint"

25 Sep 2023

In October 2023 the fifth cycle of the Diploma "Ut unum sint" will be inaugurated, a course of ongoing formation in ecumenism proposed by the Angelicum Institute of Ecumenical Studies [Œcumenicum] in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.

The programme is divided into 8 modules, one Friday a month for one year. Each thematic module includes: a four-hour academic lecture, a workshop and an ecumenical visit to Rome.

The lectures are given in Italian by professors and experts in the field, belonging to different Churches.

At the end of the training course, the "Ut Unum Sint" Diploma in Ecumenical Studies will award the corresponding ECTS credits.

Aimed in particular at diocesan delegates for ecumenism and all those who wish to update their knowledge in the ecumenical field, the "Ut Unum Sint" course was launched in 2019 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the same encyclical by Saint John Paul II, an illustrious alumnus of the Angelicum.

The Angelicum's Institute of Ecumenical Studies, through the Ecumenical Section (founded in 1983) of the University's Faculty of Theology, also offers a regular academic programme for the licentiate, doctorate and post-doctorate cycles in theology with a specialisation in ecumenism.
