Second session of the new cycle of the “Ut unum sint” Diploma

20 Nov 2023

The second session of the new (fifth) cycle of the Diploma Ut unum sint 2023-2024 organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Angelicum [Œcumenicum] in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity was held on Friday 17 November.

This session, dedicated to the Catholic principles of ecumenism, included a lecture by Mgr. Juan Usma-Gómez, Head Office of the DPCU, a workshop on the Ecumenical Directory held by Rev. Fr. Hyacinthe Destivelle, Official of the DPCU, and a meeting with Rev. Sr Nathalie Becquart, XMCJ, Undersecretary of the Synod, at the Synod Secretariat.

Aimed in particular at diocesan delegates for ecumenism and at all those who wish to update their knowledge in the ecumenical field, the "Ut Unum Sint" course was launched in 2019 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the same encyclical of Saint John Paul II. The program is divided into 8 modules, one Friday a month, for a year. Each thematic module includes a four-hour academic lecture, a workshop and an ecumenical visit to Rome.
