First session of the new cycle of the "Ut Unum Sint" Diploma

16 Oct 2023

The first session of the new (fifth) cycle of the Diploma Ut Unum Sint 2023-2024, organised by the Angelicum Institute of Ecumenical Studies [Œcumenicum] in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, took place on Friday 13 October.

This session, dedicated to the ecumenical movement, included a lecture on the history of the ecumenical movement by Prof. Teresa Francesca Rossi (Angelicum), a workshop on Taizé and the ecumenical movement with Brother Alois, Prior of the Taizé Community, and a meeting with Cardinal Walter Kasper, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, at the see of the Dicastery.

Aimed in particular at diocesan delegates for ecumenism and all those who wish to update their knowledge in the ecumenical field, the "Ut Unum Sint" course was launched in 2019 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the encyclical of John Paul II. The programme consists of 8 modules, one Friday per month, for one year. Each thematic module includes a four-hour academic lecture, a workshop and an ecumenical visit to Rome.
