Visit to His Beatitude Catholicos Mor Baselios Thomas I

As part of their visit to Kerala for the theological dialogues with the Malankara Orthodox Churches, on 16 December 2022 Bishop Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, and Fr Hyacinthe Destivelle, Official of the Eastern Section, paid a courtesy visit to His Beatitude Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of the Malankara (Jacobite) Syrian Orthodox Church, at the Kothmangalam Regional Office of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church.

The meeting, during which Bishop Farrell presented the Catholicos with a gift on behalf of the Holy Father, was an opportunity for an exchange of ecumenical news on both local and worldwide levels. 

The meeting was attended by His Grace Mor Julius Elias, Metropolitan of Angamaly Diocese, and by His Grace Mor Theophilos Kyriakose, resident Metropolitan of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary, Udayagiri, and Metropolitan of the Malankara diocese of Germany.
