Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity represented at Katholikentag in Stuttgart

On 27 May 2022 Reverend Andrzej Choromanski represented the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity at an ecumenical panel entitled “The love of Christ moves, reconciles and unites the world. Towards the 2022 Assembly of the World Council of Churches.”

The panel was a part of the 102nd German Catholic Convention (Katholikentag) held in Stuttgart on the theme of “Sharing life”. The Katholikentag, organized by the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK), is the largest, regularly held event sponsored by the Catholic Church in Germany, and attended by more than 30,000 participants from the country and abroad.

In his address Reverend Choromanski focused on the relationship between the World Council of Churches and the Catholic Church as well as on the participation of Catholics in the preparations for the next WCC Assembly to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, during the first week of September 2022. Among other participants of the panel were Ms Agnes Abuom, Moderator of the WCC Central Committee, Mr Marc Witzenbacher, Director of the Karlsruhe Assembly office, as well as representatives of different churches in Germany.
