Ecumenical worship for the Ascension in the Lutheran Church in Rome

On 13 May 2021 the community of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rome organized, as in previous years, an “Ecumenical Worship for the Ascension”.

The liturgy presided over by Pastor Michael Jonas, Pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran community in Rome, was attended by a number of guests from the different Churches and Ecclesial Communities in the city, including Pastor Joylin Galapon (Evangelical Methodist Church in Via XX Settembre), who delivered the homily, Reverend Giuseppe Miglio (Evangelical Baptist Church), Reverend Father Vache Mkrtchyan (Armenian Apostolic Churcha), His Grace Archbishop Ian Ernest (Anglican Centre in Rome), Very Reverend Father Gheorghe Militaru (Romanian Orthodox Diocese in Italy), Pastor Vanessa Bayha (Melanchton Centre), Reverend Daniel Pratt Morris-Chapman (Ponte Sant’Angelo Methodist Church), Reverend Matthew Laferty (Methodist Ecumenical Office Rome) and Mr Stefano Ercoli (SAE-Segretariato Attività Ecumeniche).

Reverend Father Augustinus Sander, OSB, official of the Western Section, represented the PCPCU at the celebration, in which Monsignor Juan Usma Gómez, Chief of the Western Section, and Reverend Father Hyacinthe Destivelle, OP, official of the Eastern Section, also took part.
