The Pontifical Council represented at the installation of the new President of the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation

On 3 December 2018 in Hannover, on the occasion of the farewell of the outgoing President of the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation, Bishop Ulrich, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany, and the installation of the new President, Bishop July, of the Church of Württemberg, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity was represented by Bishop Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Dicastery, and by Msgr Matthias Türk, Official.

In his address, Bishop Farrell briefly presented the promising recent developments in the international dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Lutheran World Federation. He thanked the outgoing President for the valuable contribution made by German Lutherans and the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation to the International Lutheran-Catholic dialogue and conveyed the warm greetings of Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian unity.
