Acta Œcumenica is the journal of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. Founded in 2020, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Encyclical Ut unum sint as well as the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Pontifical Council, it follows on from Information Service/Service d'information which had been published by the Dicastery since 1967, the archives of which are available online here below.
Acta Œcumenica is an annual volume that gathers documents on the engagement of the Holy See with regard to Christian unity: the ecumenical events and declarations of the Holy Father, information on the various activities of the Pontifical Council (documentation on the different international dialogues, texts of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, etc.), as well as the Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews.
Complementing the Dicastery's website, which offers immediate updates on ecumenical news from the Holy See, Acta Œcumenica is a complete reference source on the official ecumenical documents of the Holy See, generally published in their original language, for academic and research purposes.
Acta Œcumenica can be downloaded free of charge from the Pontifical Council's website or sent by email to those requesting (libraries, ecumenical centres and institutes, and anyone interested in ecumenism).
The paper version of the journal is also available by subscription at €38 per year. Distribution is provided by the Libreria Editrice Vaticana (LEV).
