Visit of a delegation of the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe

On Monday 6 February 2023 a delegation of the Federal Executive of the International Union of Guides and Scouts of Europe – Federation of European Scouting (UIGSE-FSE) visited the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.

Received by Bishop Brian Farrell, Revd. Fr. Hyacinthe Destivelle OP, Revd. Fr. Augustinus Sander OSB and Revd. Jaromir Zadrapa, the members of the delegation of IUGSE-FSE, a private international association of the faithful of pontifical right, illustrated the main activities of the movement, which has had an ecumenical dimension since its origins in 1956.

The discussion was an opportunity to outline the importance of scouting for the ecumenical journey of the Churches and for the reconciliation of peoples, particularly in Europe.

Attending on the part of the UIGSE-FSE were Ms Nathalie Flama (Belgium), Federal Commissioner; Ms Joanna Skowrońska (Poland), Federal Vice-President; Mr Robin Sébille (France), Federal Secretary; Revd. Fr. Thomas Michelet OP (France), Federal Religious Counsellor; as well as a delegation of the German National Executive, composed of Mr. Matthias Krause, President; Ms Maria Hylak, National Secretary; Mr Matthias Funk, Commissioner-General; and Revd. Markus Christoph, National Religious Counsellor.
