Audience with Apostolikí Diakonia

On 25 February Pope Francis received in a private audience a delegation of Apostolikí Diakonia of the Church of Greece, led by Bishop Agathanghelos. The Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity has cooperated with Apostolikí Diakonia for over 15 years on a range of cultural and educational initiatives. In his address, the Holy Father highlighted that this collaboration “is a fine example of how fruitful it can be when Catholics and Orthodox work together”. Indeed, “in these years, both the organizers of these initiatives and those who have benefited from them, chiefly the young students of our Churches, have realized that what we have in common is much greater than what keeps us apart”.
