DPCU at the Forum on Christian Unity and Renewal (Augusta, GA, USA)

From 26 to 29 June, Msgr Juan Usma Gómez attended the “Forum on Christian Unity and Renewal”(Augusta, Georgia, USA), a new initiative of the “Alleluia Community” (Charismatic Ecumenical Covenant Community) with the aim of bringing together ordained and lay leaders, as well as theologians from various Christian traditions in North America.

The gathering, held in hybrid mode, had 70 in-person and 30 online participants. It included three major themes: returning to the sources (Bible and patristics - anamnesis); promoting renewal (the Holy Spirit - epiclesis); and receiving the gifts of other churches (receptive ecumenism - koinonia). Msgr. Usma addressed the topic "Streams of Renewal and Opportunities for Christian Unity" from the perspective of "Learnings, Risks and Temptations".
