Cardinal Koch visits the Lutheran World Federation

On 18 December 2023, Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity (DPCU), and Father Dr Augustinus Sander, OSB, Official of the DPCU responsible for relations with the Lutherans, visited the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Geneva.

In a staff meeting with the General Secretary of the LWF, Reverend Dr Anne Burghardt, and the Assistant General Secretary for Ecumenical Relations, Prof. Dr Dirk Lange, issues and future projects of the Catholic-Lutheran dialogue were discussed.

A review of the year highlighted key ecumenical activities of the LWF and the DPCU. In particular, the importance of the "Common Word" presented by General Secretary Burghardt and Cardinal Koch at the 13th Assembly of the LWF in Krakow in September was emphasised.
