In Memoriam Dr Sr Mary Cecily Boulding OP

It is with sadness that the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity has learned of the death Sr Mary Cecily Boulding. Sr M. Cecily was a member of the English Dominican Congregation of St Catherine of Siena.

A committed scholar and ecumenist, Sr M. Cecily taught Systematic Theology at Ushaw College, near Durham, England for many years and was a much-sought speaker on theological and spiritual topics throughout the United Kingdom. She served with distinction on the English and Welsh Anglican-Roman Catholic Committee (ARC) and from 1983-1990, was a member of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC II).

Sr M. Cecily’s funeral will take place at the mother house of her congregation in Stone, Staffordshire, on 24 January 2023.
