Delegation of Holy See at funeral of His Beatitude Chrysostomos II

The funeral service of His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Cyprus, who passed away on 7 November, took place in Nicosia on Saturday 12 November.

The service, presided over by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was attended by delegations of the other Orthodox Churches, as well as other Churches and representatives of the Catholic communities in Cyprus. The Holy See was represented by Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, and Monsignor Andrea Palmieri, Under‒Secretary. At the end of the service, Cardinal Koch read the message of condolence from Pope Francis.
