On Friday 21 October, the President and Vice-President of the World Methodist Council visited the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity. The World Methodist Council is comprised of 80 autonomous churches, with members in 138 countries, and is represented in Rome by the Methodist Ecumenical Office. The Reverend Professor Jong Chun Park from South Korea (President) and Mrs Gillian Kingston from Ireland (Vice-President) were in Rome for several days of engagements, and were received at the Dicastery by the Prefect, Cardinal Kurt Koch. During their meeting, they discussed the recent inaugural meeting of the twelfth round of the Methodist-Roman Catholic International Commission, and welcomed the publication of the report of the eleventh round, God in Christ Reconciling: On the Way to Full Communion in Faith, Sacraments, and Mission. The Director of the Methodist Ecumenical Office in Rome, Reverend Matthew Laferty, and Father Martin Browne, OSB, official responsible for relations with Methodists, also took part in the meeting.
