Professors from Theology Faculty of Sofia meet Pope Francis

On Wednesday 19 October a group of professors from the Theology Faculty of the University of Sofia “Saint Kliment of Ohridski” (Bulgaria) met Pope Francis during the general audience in Saint Peter’s Square, presenting him with an icon of Saint John of Rila and a book on the lives of the Bulgarian saints.

The professors were visiting Rome on a pilgrimage in the wake of the Apostles to mark the feast of Saint John of Rila.

The group was accompanied by Reverend Jaromír Zádrapa, official of the Eastern Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, who is responsible for relations with the Slavic Orthodox Churches.
