Holy Father meets with Metropolitan Antonij of Volokolamsk

On Friday 5 August the Holy Father received in a private audience Metropolitan Antonij of Volokolamsk, new Chairman of the Department fo External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

It was the first meeting of Metropolitan Antonij with Pope Francis in his new capacity.

Metropolitan Antonij was accompanied by Reverend Jaromír Zádrapa, official of the Eastern Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity responsible for relations with the Slavic Orthodox Churches.
