Archabbot of Pannonhalma visits Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity

On 23 February 2022, Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity (PCPCU), received the Archabbot of the Hungarian Benedictine monastery of Pannonhalma, Cirill T. Hortobágyi, OSB.

The meeting, which was also attended by Father Konrád Dejcsics, OSB, from Pannonhalma and Father Augustinus Sander, OSB, staff member of the PCPCU, focused in particular on the various ecumenical activities of the Archabbey, which plays a prominent role in Hungary in the dialogue with Orthodox as well as Lutheran and Reformed Christians.

Archabbot Cirill presented to Cardinal Koch an issue of the Hungarian theological journal “Vigilia”, in which the contributions of the ecumenical symposium “God and the World” were published, in which Cardinal Koch had participated as a speaker on 8 June 2021 in Pannonhalma during his visit to Hungary.
