Holy Father receives Metropolitan Antonij of Bulgarian Orthodox Church

On Saturday 27 November, the Holy Father received in a private audience His Eminence Antonij (Mihalev), Metropolitan for Central and Western Europe of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, together with Reverend Ivan Ivanov, parish priest of the Bulgarian Orthodox community in Rome and Milan.

During his apostolic journey to Bulgaria from 5‒6 May 2019, Metropolitan Antonij and Reverend Ivanov had accompanied the Holy Father to the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Sofia for a moment of silent prayer before the throne of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
