Visit of Vice-Chair of Pentecostal World Fellowship

11 Oct 2021

On 5 October Monsignor Juan Usma received Reverend Pastor David Wells, Vice-Chair of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF) and Chair of the PWF Commission for Christian Unity. He was accompanied by Reverend Professor Harold Hunter, International Pentecostal Holiness Church Liaison to the Greater Christian Community. Both had taken part in the meeting held in the Vatican of Christian leaders ahead of COP26.

The visit offered the opportunity to present the work of the PCPCU, and to exchange views on new developments between the PWF and other Christian communities, such as initiatives relating to the emergence of a new Pentecostal reflection on creation. During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed regarding the recent resumption of the international Catholic‒Pentecostal dialogue, of which Dr Wells is a member, and the new local developments in the official dialogue between Catholics and Pentecostals, confirmed by Reverend Hunter, Co‒President of the Exploratory Dialogue between the Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA) and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). At the end of the meeting, the group was joined by Reverend Father Andrzej Choromanski, PCPCU official and representative on the Global Christian Forum, in which Dr Wells is also involved.
