In memoriam Bernard Sesboüé, SJ

The Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity has learned with sadness of the death on 22 September of the theologian Reverend Father Bernard Sesboüé, SJ, at the age of 92. A distinguished scholar and specialist in ecumenism, Father Sesboüé was a former consultant of the PCPCU, taking part also in the Evangelical‒Roman Catholic Dialogue on Mission, which published its Report in 1984. He was a former member of the International Theological Commission and the Dombes Group. In 2011 he received the Prix du Cardinal‒Grente, from the French Academy, for his body of work.
