Holy Father receives His Beatitude John X

On 30 June 2021 Pope Francis received in a private audience His Beatitude John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.

The Patriarch, accompanied by His Eminence Silouan, Metropolitan of Mount Lebanon, and Reverend Father Parthenios,  was in the Vatican on the invitation of the Holy Father to take part in the Day of Reflection and Prayer for Lebanon on 1 July 2021.

During his stay in the Vatican from 28 June to 3 July, His Beatitude John X attended the Holy Mass presided over by Pope Francis on the solemnity of the feast of the Apostle Saints Peter and Paul celebrated on 29 June 2021 in Saint Peter’s Basilica.

On 2 July the Patriarch will meet with Cardinals Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, and Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

The last visit to the Vatican of His Beatitude John X took place on 27 September 2013.
