New members and consultors of the Pontifical Council

The appointment by Pope Francis of new members and consultors of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity was announced today by the Press Office of the Holy See.

The Dicastery is delighted to now count among its members His Eminence Cardinal Joseph William Tobin, CSsR, Archbishop of Newark (United States); The Most Reverend Mario Grech, Bishop em. of Gozo (Malta), Pro-Secretary of the Synod of Bishops; The Most Reverend Paulo Cezar Costa, Bishop of São Carlos (Brazil); The Most Reverend Paul Rouhana, OLC, Tit. Bishop of Antarado and Auxiliary Bishop of Joubbé, Sarba and Jounieh of the Maronites (Lebanon); The Most Reverend Richard Kuuia Baawobr, M.Afr., Bishop of Wa (Ghana).

The Holy Father also appointed as consultors of the Dicastery The Most Reverend Giacomo Morandi, Tit. Archbishop of Cerveteri, Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and The Most Reverend Giorgio Demetrio Gallaro, Archbishop, Bishop em. of Piana degli Albanesi, Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
