Holy Father expresses greetings to Eastern Churches celebrating Christmas

The Holy Father prayed for Oriental, Catholic and Orthodox Christians who celebrate Christmas on 7 January. "We wish for them and for their communities the light and peace of Christ the Saviour", said Pope Francis at the Angelus on 6 January, before inviting the faithful to applaud. Today in a tweet the Holy Father wrote: "I address a special thought to the brothers of the Eastern Churches, Catholic and Orthodox, who today celebrate the Lord's Christmas. To all I wish the light and peace of Christ the Saviour".
